If you plan on checking out the 2024 Hyundai Palisade, we can help you decide which trim is best for you. The Palisade is a three-row SUV with a powerful V6 engine, front- and all-wheel drive configurations, 5,000 lbs of towing might, and several dynamic trim options. Auto-Leveling Rear Suspension: The Palisade’s 5,000-lb towing capacity means that this SUV is terrific for camping, boating, ATVing, and similar excursions that mean bringing a large vessel with you. However, towing can throw off the vehicle’s weight distribution. The auto-leveling rear suspension system works by automatically increasing the height of the rear of the vehicle to spread out the weight more evenly, sending more to the front when trailering. If you plan on utilizing the Palisade’s towing powers frequently, you’ll appreciate how this system helps you feel more in control.

Highway Driving Assist II: Hyundai’s semi-autonomous driving system works with Smart Cruise Control and Lane Following Assist to help you stay in your lane and maintain your speed while keeping a safe distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you. When used with Lane Change Assist, if you’re traveling above 37 mph and turn on your turn signal, the system will automatically handle the lane change for you; when other vehicles get too close to you, it will adjust your lane position; and, when moving at slow speeds, this system can react when someone cuts you off to prevent a collision.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist Enhancements: In addition to the standard Forward Collision Assist you get without this package, the Premium Package adds several enhancements to reduce the chances of a head-on crash. Lane Change Oncoming and Lane Change Side can warn you of someone approaching the side of the vehicle when you’re about to change lanes, and Evasive Steering can help you avoid a crash with a slow or stopped vehicle when braking alone isn’t enough.

Surround View Monitor: This monitor gives you a 360-degree view of what’s happening around your Palisade, which can help you make more informed decisions when changing lanes, making turns, coming to a stop, and more.

Blind-Spot View Monitor: This monitor shows live footage on your touchscreen interface of what’s traveling in your blind spot as you signal to change lanes, so you will no longer have to crane your neck to check this tricky area.

Cabin Tech

Harman Kardon Premium Audio System: If music, podcasts, or audiobooks are how you like to pass the time on long commutes, then you’ll love the premium audio system that this package comes with. Harman Kardon actually designed this system specifically for Hyundai vehicles, so every speaker and element has been perfectly placed to enhance the acoustics inside the Palisade.

Passenger Talk: There’s a lot of space between the driver and third-row passengers of a large SUV. In fact, there can be so much that the third-row passengers can’t always hear what the driver says—and if you have kids or teens, they might just pretend they can’t hear you. You can override that issue with the Premium Package’s Passenger Talk, an in-vehicle intercom system that will pipe the driver’s voice through the rear speakers so everyone can hear you.

Homelink: If you have to enter gated garages or gated properties, you’ll like having Homelink. It’s a radio frequency transmitter that’s built right into the Palisade and can be connected to things like garages and gates. So you can just reach up and push a button in your vehicle to open these as you approach—and because it’s built into the vehicle, you don’t need to worry about losing a small remote.

115-volt AC Power Outlet: You can plug standard appliances into your Palisade with the 115-volt AC outlet. One of the most convenient things about it might be that you can plug most laptops into a 115-volt, so if you or a passenger want to stream shows or get work done from the road, they don’t need to worry about the laptop battery dying.

Third-Row USB Outlets: While you do get some data and power USB outlets in the first and second rows in the SE and SEL trim standard, adding the Premium Package gets you two USB power outlets in the third row of the Palisade so that everybody can plug in their tablets and smartphones on the go.

The History of the Hyundai Sonata You might be surprised to learn that the Sonata is almost 40 years old. It was initially launched in 1986 and is now Hyundai's longest-running nameplate. Still, it wasn't available in the United States until its second generation, which arrived a few years later. At that time, it was the first Hyundai available to the American public and the company's first front-wheel drive vehicle. Between the second and third generations, the brand improved the design to match the needs of American drivers, which included giving it a slightly larger footprint and better acceleration. In fact, compared to six other cars in its class in 1994, Car and Driver noted the Hyundai was the fastest off the line. The sixth-generation Sonata had a coupe-like feel that hugged the road and offered superb power and handling. Breaking Down the 2024 Hyundai Sonata When shopping for your 2024 Hyundai Sonata, you'll find a choice of two trim levels, either the SEL or the N Line. Both offer impressive fuel efficiency, but the SEL trim wins the category with up to 36 MPG on the highway and 29 MPG combined when choosing the front-wheel drive option. The all-wheel drive option offers you 28 MPG combined, while the N Line has a fuel efficiency of 32 MPG on the highway and 27 MPG combined. The 2024 Hyundai Sonata SEL The SEL trim level is powered by a four-cylinder engine that provides the car with 191 hp. As mentioned, it comes in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive. The MacPherson strut with coil springs on the front and the independent multi-link design on the rear suspension gives you a smooth ride as you set out toward your destination. For comfort and convenience, which are key to any commute, you'll appreciate the acoustic film on the windshield and front door glass that combine for a quieter ride, plus the hands-free smart trunk release when your hands are full. It's the inside of the Sonata where true comfort and convenience come in. You'll notice the brand's thoughtful styling right away as you slide into the eight-way power driver seat with power lumbar, which becomes even more comfortable on chilly mornings with standard heated seating for the driver and passenger seats. The 2024 Hyundai Sonata N Line The N Line offers many of the same great amenities as the SEL trim level, but the look and feel are sportier. This is thanks, in part, to the turbo four-cylinder engine that produces 290 hp. If you're set on all-wheel drive, you'll need to stick to the SEL trim level, as the N Line is only available in front-wheel drive. However, when you go for a test drive and realize the N Line offers a sport-tuned suspension system that hugs every turn and curve with precision, the all-wheel drive might not be that big of a deal. For lighting, the N Line's Fender Mounted LED Turn Signal Indicators offer improved exterior styling, but standard features like automatic light control, LED tail lights, and LED Daytime Running Lights are standard on both the N Line and SEL trim levels. Exterior styling also gets an upgrade with the N Line's gloss black window surround moldings, N unique front and rear fascia, a rear spoiler, and twin tip dual rear exhaust. Comfort and convenience on the interior include N unique sport front seats with microfiber inserts and a leather-wrapped N unique sport steering wheel. The power-adjustable driver seat and heated seats mentioned above are also standard for the N Line. Last but not least, the optional Convenience Package explained above is standard for the N Line, as are the listed safety features.
